Hey you! Yes, you, the fashionable gamer over there. Would you like to learn about Fight Night Round 4 (which won't be made by the studio that made Round 3, incidentally)? Would you like to see the very first glimpse of the game (possibly including Mike Tyson)? Well, according to a new teaser trailer (embedded after the break), you can see exactly that during the Spike Video Game Awards on December 14 at 9:00pm Eastern. Looks like you'd better clear your calendar right now. Or, you know, you could just wait until the next day when the footage will be all over the internet. It's your call, really.

There's quite a thread going at the AVForums in which several 360 owners are saying that the New Xbox Experience has caused their Xbox 360 consoles to lose all sound. The problem seems to be isolated to those who use HDMI to connect the console to their television sets, although one user has complained of the same problem using a SCART connection. For the moment, a quick fix has been discovered that seems to work for many people. If you are experiencing this glitch try the following:
  • While the Xbox 360 is turned off, remove the hard drive.
  • Turn on the Xbox 360.
  • Once the Dashboard loads, replace the hard drive.
Reportedly, this fix only lasts while the Xbox is on. Once you turn it off, you'll have to repeat the steps above to make the sound work again. We've contacted Microsoft and the company is aware of the issue. We'll update this post when we receive more information.

[Thanks, Daniel H]

Is this really the road Eidos wants to travel? According to a Twitter post by Gamespot UK writer Guy Cocker, Eidos UK's PR firm, Barrington Harvey, has sent out a message asking all outlets to withhold any reviews of Tomb Raider: Underworld with scores below 8/10 until Monday. When contacted by videogaming247, a Barrington Harvey representative stated that the company is, at the request of Eidos, "trying to get the Metacritic rating to be high" and that the US brand manager for the game wants the company to "manage the scores before the game is out." All of this, of course, comes in the wake of the firing of Jeff Gerstmann from Gamespot less than a year ago, alledgedly because of a low score given to another Eidos title, Kane & Lynch.

One of Barrington Harvey's directors, Simon Byron, has since responded to the story, saying, "Barrington Harvey is not in the position of telling reviewers what they can and cannot say." Byron added, "As an ex-journalist myself, I firmly believe in editorial integrity and the right to express an individual opinion. As an agency, we never - ever - make demands of the press in terms of awarding scores; at the end of the day, they are free to score as they wish." It's worth noting that while Byron's statement makes it clear that Barrington Harvey cannot demand that outlets withhold review scores, it never addresses whether or not the company asked them to do so.

The NXE just launched earlier this week, and already we have some of the first videos of people using Avatars to craft machinima. Okay, so maybe it isn't so much machinima as it is an amusing use of the limited control players have over Avatars, but it's funny so bear with us. Sure, you might have played around with your Avatar. You might have twirled its head around until it got dizzy. Maybe you figured out that you can slam its face into the screen if you zoom in close enough while taking your gamer picture. But, did you know that your Avatar can sing and dance? It's true. Just check out the video above (and another embedded after the break) and see for yourself.

"More costumes will be made available for free in the next weeks" says Schneider-Johne, adding "what's going to happen as of spring is yet to be announced." So, feel free t put those Microsoft points back in your pocket ... for now.

Now that we have a release date, Capcom decided it to be the opportune time to announce the pricing for remake Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Deep breath, because it isn't cheap.

According to Capcom's John Dianomon, SSFIITHDR will release to the Playstation 3's PSN for (drum roll) $14.99. True, this isn't an official price announcement for Street Fighter on the XBLA, but unless Capcom decides to sell it for a different price on each network, we think it's a safe bet that Street Fighter will cost Xbox gamers 1200 Microsoft points. A bit expensive, but re-drawing old sprites is no cheap task.
